Text Box: Something to Think About:
“The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn.”

Text Box: Extending Children’s Abilities Through Knowledge…..
When we think about extending children’s abilities, we assume that there is something to extend.  That “something” is basic knowledge.  Knowledge is the beginning point, that which we must have in order to move forward.  Some questions you might ask to check on the knowledge base would be…
What happened after…?
Who was it that…?
Can you name or describe...?
Can you tell why…?
Find the meaning of…?

The Athletic Department will be selling Valentine's Grams starting on Feb.6 - Feb. 13th!  Please support their efforts and encourage  students to purchase grams.  Valentine grams will be sold in the cafeteria and auditorium each morning on the above dates. The cost is $1.00. Each gram will have two strawberry lollipops in a cute envelope!
Last week Teacher Transfer Forms were placed in all teacher boxes.  Please note that by county contract leadership must provide this form to you.  If you have filled out your letter of intent to stay at Landon you may disregard this form.  Those who do not plan to stay at Landon during this transition need to fill out the transfer form and return it to Ms. Lovely or Aaron Muse, Director of Human Resources.  This will allow the district to assist you in placement for the 2008-2009 school year.
As we continue moving towards FCAT, please encourage your students to participate in TeamUp.  Students who are interested should see Ms. English.
A reminder to all DCPS employees that the district’s new website, as of February 1st, will be www.duvalschools.org.
We continue to ask that teachers remain at their doorways to monitor student behavior during the change of classes.
