Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program

Steps to find and complete the Bright Futures/Florida Financial Aid Applicatio

  1. Log onto www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.org
  2. Click on the State Grants, Scholarships & Applications link on the left hand side of the page.
  3. Click on Apply Here/Initial State Student Application (top of the page).
  4. Click on the Proceed to Application Box
  5. Enter the required information
  6. Click on Submit (and print) my Application

Scholarships with a deadline in September:

National Young Leaders Conference

Tenth, eleventh or twelfth grade students can be nominated with a 3.5 or higher unweighted GPA who have demonstrated academic excellence, maturity, and outstanding leadership potential.

Students nominated may be eligible to attend the  National Youth Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.

Nominations are due September 21, 2007. See Mr. Mills in Guidance for details and nomination form.

 

National Youth Leadership Forum

9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students with a unweighted GPA of 3.7 and have shown academic excellence and leadership potential can be nominated to one of the National Youth Leadership Forums to be held throughout the United States.

Deadline is September 21, 2007. See Mr. Mills in Guidance for details and nomination forms.

AFS Awards for excellence

 

QuestBridge

QuestBridge is a scholarship for senior applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence in the face of economic obstacles. Deadline is September 30, 2007.

College Match scholarships cover tuition, room, and board to selected colleges (visit www.questbridge.org.     

 

Scholarships with a deadline in October:

 Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair Scholarship

Scholarship is for students majoring, or planning to major, in agriculture, veterinary medicine or other related fields of study. The applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a junior college, four year university or technical institute. The scholarship application package must include an essay (500 words or less) discussing briefly background and leadership activities they may have experienced. The application must also include three letters of recommendation.

The applications and other documents must be mailed and received in the Fair office by October 1, 2007.

Wendy’s High School Heisman

Award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academics, athletics and student leadership.

Completed applications are due by 10/01/07. Because your application must be reviewed by a high school representative no later than midnight (Central Time), 10/01/07, you must complete the application in time for the review to take place.

Applications are available at www.wendysheisman.com. If you have additional questions regarding the program you may call 800-205-6367 or email wendys@act.org. No usernames are necessary for students to apply. Any eligible student can login and begin the application process.

 

YoungArts

Final registration deadline is 10/01/07.

Audition/Portfolio received deadline is 11/05/07.

Open to high school seniors in the performing, literary and visual arts. Students may be eligible for approximately 3 million dollars in college scholarships at almost 100 colleges and universities.
