2007-08 Band Staff
Director of Bands
Mr. Aaron Trkovsky is in his fouth year at Paxon. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida State University and a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University. His other teaching assignments have been at Deerlake Middle School (Tallahassee) and Taylor County High School (Perry, FL). He is professionally affiliated with the Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, National Band Association, and the National Flute Association. He has performed with the Tallahassee Winds, and currently performs with the First Coast Wind Ensemble. In spring 2007, he was selected to participate in the First Coast Scholars program.
Percussion Instructor
Mr. Armando Staley is in his fourth year on band staff with Paxon. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Florida State University, where he marched with the world renowned Marching Chiefs. He has also marched with DCI corps Teal Sound. He is a Jacksonville native and graduate of Sandalwood High School. Armando is currently employed with Aerotek Commercial Staffing.
Assistant Percussion Instructor
Mr. Naveed Ikram is in his first year helping with the Marching Eagles Drumline. He is a graduate of West Nassau High School and is a former member of Teal Sound.
Color Guard Instructor
Ms. Kim Hyatt is in her third year on band staff. She was born and raised in Charleston, SC, before moving to Jacksonville in 1996. She is a 2001 graduate of Orange Park High School, where she marched with the Raider Marching Band and Anastasia Winterguard. She has competed and placed at numerous regional events, as well as the WGI World Championships. For the past three years she has assisted in the choreography of the half time show for the Gator Bowl. She has also been an instructor for Glynn Academy (GA), Forrest High School (Jacksonville), and Orange Park High School. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of North Florida. Kim is currently employed with Enterprise Leasing Company of Florida.
Assistant Color Guard Instructor
Ms. Sharon Torio is in her first year helping with the Eagle Color Guard. She is a 2007 graduate of Paxon School for Advanced Studies, and is currently studying at the University of North Florida.
