Title I Parent Involvement
Parent/Family Program Overview
The Title I program for parents is
designed to:
- Inform parents about Title I
regulations
- Involve parents in local Title
I decisions
- Provide literacy training
- Offer parental training in
schools and the community on ways to raise student
achievement via at home activities
- Encourage active participation
in their child(ren)’s schools and education
Program Components
- Parent Specialist and
Parent Liaisons – Provide training on how
parents can assist their child(ren) with their
academic skills at home
- Title I Parent Advisory
Council – Meetings are held during the year to
give feedback on our Title I programs. All Title I
administrators are invited to attend and are
available to answer parents’ questions regarding
Title I concerns. Each Title I school is strongly
encouraged to send one parent representative to the
meetings. Parent information is given to attendees
to take back to their schools for distribution to
faculty, staff, and parents. Guest speakers discuss
helpful topics on Title I issues, legislative
