Quality Education for
All, The Key to Jacksonville’s Future

It is with great pride that I
share a few thoughts in regard to the education of our
children in the Duval County Public School System. Many
people in our community believe that the stars are
aligned and now is the time to make the commitment of a
Quality Education for All,
Teach for America will help us in that effort. In
2007 Jacksonville spoke, Teach for America listened and
acted by designating our city a new program site
beginning in the 2008 school year.
Talk around town is that we
have set our goal to be “better than the best” school
system in America, I ask why not? Public education is a
community responsibility; our children need and deserve
the support of every parent, grandparent, citizen,
principal and teacher, along with an energetic and
committed superintendent. Yes, there is always talk
about Jacksonville becoming a world class city, however,
that will never be unless our public school system
prepares all of our children to be contributing citizens
and future leaders. We must accept no less than a
Quality Education for All; then and only then will we be
a world class city.
The Jaguars are proud to lead
the way in promoting the idea of a Quality Education for
All, The Key to Jacksonville’s Future, think about it,
how can our community do less? You are invited to be a
part of the campaign by including the tag line on your
printed materials and emails. Together we can launch a
campaign to keep quality public education in the
forefront and together we will offer a Quality Education
for All while knowing that education truly is The Key to
Jacksonville’s Future.
