Frank H. Peterson Academy of Technology Student to Compete in 2008 Best Teen Chef Competition

Frank H. Peterson Academy of Technology senior, Chris Cooper, will participate in The Art Institute's 2008 Best Teen Chef Competition on May 17, at the Art Institute of Las Vegas.

On April 12, Chris won the Art Institute of Jacksonville's local Best Teen Chef Competition, and the winner, he received a $3,000 tuition scholarship to the Jacksonville Institute, and will represent them at the national competition held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During the two-hour timed event, Chris will prepare a meal and have it judged on criteria including taste, presentation and culinary techniques.

The winning chef will receive a full-tuition scholarship to one of more than 30 Art Institutes locations offering culinary programs, the title of 2008 Best Teen Chef and in partnership with Food Network, will be an "Intern for a Day" at the Food Network Kitchens in New York City.

In addition to gaining national notoriety from the competition, on Friday, May 9, Chris will appear on Channel 4's Morning Show to showcase his Chicken Alfredo dish.
