Schultz Center Leadership Institute

Aspiring Leaders Academy

Program Overview:

The Schultz Center Leadership Institute is now accepting applications* for the Aspiring Leaders Academy.  The Aspiring Leaders Academy is a one-year leadership development program designed to recruit, train, support, and retain high quality leaders who will increase student achievement and close the achievement gap.

Program Goals:

  • Prepare candidates with the critical leadership standards, core values, knowledge, and skills that all leaders must possess as schools move from change to sustainability.
     

  • Prepare candidates for placement on the Assistant Principal Eligibility List and/or in the district’s Candidate Pool.
     

  • Grant Educational Leadership Certification for those holding a Masters Degree in a field other than Educational Leadership.

Selection Criteria:

  • A Masters Degree with certification in Educational  Leadership and a passing score on the FELE  or  a  Masters Degree in a field other than Educational Leadership
     

  • A minimum of three years of  satisfactory teaching experience
     

  • A passing  score on the Principal Insight (if appropriate for your district)
     

  • Two letters of recommendation (one must be from current principal or supervisor)
     

  • A completed application
     

  • Passing scores on the “On Demand” and “Narrative Writing” exercises
     

  • Successful completion of an oral interview
     

  • Ability to commit one full year to the program

Who Should Apply?  Classroom and Resource Teachers, Instructional Coaches, Counselors, and eligible district staff who currently hold certification in Educational Leadership or those with a Masters Degree in a field other than Educational Leadership.

* Final selection status will be determined following the review process.
