Q: What do recruiters look for on a resume?
A: It's a combination of things:

  • academic performance,
  • extracurricular leadership activities and
  • related experience obtained through work, and/or internships.

Simply put, we want outstanding applicants who have the potential to become outstanding employees.

Q: Do you offer internships?
A: Yes. We offer limited internship opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students.

Q: Do you provide sponsorships for international teachers?
A: No. We require applicants to provide proof of authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis or proof that they have a H1b Visa. H1b visas are only requested or signed off on for areas of critical shortage and an attorney must complete the paperwork.

Q: Will the employer purchase a return air ticket if the applicant must be deported?
A: No. The applicant must provide an airline ticket to the employer. The ticket should be open.

Q: How would you describe your college recruiting process?
A: It begins by meeting with candidates through campus activities such as career fairs, class presentations for interns and/or small receptions. We initially begin by contacting someone who has contact at the university. That is our most effective means. Our contacts usually arrange interviews through the Career Services office at the colleges/universities.

Q: How can I apply for a position in your school system?
A: Through our website. Please visit our website at http://duvaljobs.educationcentral.org. Select Employment Opportunities. Upon completion of the online application, please send your original transcript(s) of all college work to:
