Requirements for Getting Hired as a Teacher in Duval

To be employed by Duval County Public Schools as a teacher, you must:

  1. Review the application process and provide official transcripts.
     
  2. Be eligible for a Florida Educator's Certificate according to the Florida standards.
     
  3. Be a citizen of the United States or hold authorization for employment.
Have the following information readily available before you begin the online application:
  • Dates of college attendance and degree conferred
     
  • Former employers/principals names, addresses, phone numbers, and dates of employment
     
  • Alien number if applicable
     
  • Criminal offenses, if applicable.  Dates, arresting agency and final disposition.
